Too many of our mokopuna and rangatahi in Aotearoa are growing up alongside mental health challenges. When a young person is struggling, the people around them — whānau, kaiako, coaches, friends and community — become an important part of the support they receive.
Being able to recognise when a young person is not okay matters.
Knowing how to start a caring conversation matters even more.
Mental Health First Aid training gives adults and communities the skills, confidence and understanding to notice the signs, respond safely, and support our young people in those moments when they need someone beside them.
Because when we strengthen the people around our mokopuna, we strengthen their chance to thrive.
